Museum Herxheim

The Herxheim Museum’s impressive collection of bones and pottery fragments from the Stone Age takes visitors 7,000 years back in time.

The museum was completely refurbished in 2016, with all levels now easily accessible by lifts, and it complies with the specifications of the Travel for All certification scheme.

The museum’s ground floor provides glimpses into life in a neolithic settlement. In the basement, experts from the Herxheim research project explain their remarkable discoveries at the ritual site in Herxheim, covering its history and death rituals.
