Description

The vineyards are oriented south-southeast and are protected from westerly winds by the Palatinate Forest. The Muschelkalk soil was formed in the Triassic Era 220 million years ago. Due to the optimal solar radiation during the day, the small white limestones can store the sun's heat and release it overnight to the soil or the vines. As a result, the Mandelberg creates perfect conditions for the cultivation of Burgundy.

Numerous almond trees at the foot of the vineyard gave the Mandelberg its name. Since 2010, the Palatinate almond grove has been cultivated above the vineyard, on which over 100 other almond trees have been planted.
