In our Sunday morning matinee, Philipp Zeller (well known to the loyal fermate audience) will once again impressively demonstrate the bassoon's diversity of colour and expression. Two trios for clarinet, bassoon and horn are at the centre of the programme, a brilliant one by Beethoven's contemporary Bernard Crusell and a tongue-in-cheek one by Gottfried von Einem from the classical modern period.
