In 2011 Kirrweiler re-founded an old tradition: As a former so-called Oberamt in the Hochstift Speyer, a wine tithe went from Kirrweiler to Speyer for the first time since secularization. The local wine festival was given the name "Kirrweiler Weinzehnt" for this occasion. Always a reason to celebrate!
