Vineyard Kastanienbusch

The 100 hectare vineyard Siebeldinger Im Sonnenschein lives up to its name: It is located on the south-facing slopes of the Queichtal and therefore "in the sunshine" most of the day. Even in the evening, when most of the vineyards are already in the shade, the evening sun shines through the Queichtal onto this site. Just under 32 hectares of this single vineyard site are classified as VDP.GROSSE LAGE. The soils of the Große Lage are dominated by shell limestone. Here grows mainly great Burgundy. But also for Riesling there is "Im Sonnenschein" a good place: Over the years, large amounts of gravel were deposited on the slopes, transported by the Queich River from the Palatinate Forest as a result of the ice ages. The mixture of sand, sandstone, gravel and clay provides an excellent foundation for Riesling.

The "Im Sonnenschein" vineyard site is the site of the annual Culinary Vineyard Hike. The event was named the Most Beautiful Wine Festival in the Palatinate in 2014.
