On meanwhile 14 hectares we have 17 grape varieties in cultivation. These are predominantly younger vineyards in flat arch cultivation, with which we have purposefully positioned ourselves for the future. Classic grape varieties predominate: Riesling and white Burgundy varieties dominate the white wines, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon the reds. The red sandstone sites in Weyherer Michelsberg are just as perfect for our Rieslings as the granite and Rotliegend soils in Burrweiler Altenforst. The Burgundy varieties are mainly found in the Hainfelder Letten, where clay marl and limestone marl alternate - which ensures longevity in the wines. The work in the vineyards is elementary for us, because this is where the quality is determined. Double shoots are consistently removed, the grape zone is defoliated early. Only the basic wines are harvested with the full harvester, otherwise the rule is: selective manual harvesting in several passes. We really know each vine personally.
