Parkplatz Ahlmühle

Parkplatz Ahlmühle
Trifelsstrasse

Description

The Ahlmühle hikers' car park can be reached via Trifelsstraße by car or bus (line 527). It is a public car park that is accessible at all times. The nearest car parks are the Windhof car park (Trifelsstraße, Annweiler am Trifels) and the Schloßäcker car park (Trifelsstraße, Annweiler am Trifels).

The hikers' car park is the starting point for hikes on the Keschde adventure trail, the nature park circular trails 13 around the Föhrlenberg and 15 to the Hohenberg. The Palatinate Wine Trail takes you to Trifels Castle or Leinsweiler, and Nordic Walking Route 3 leads via Windhof down to Annweiler am Trifels. With the markings of the Palatinate Forest Association "black dot on a white background", you hike over the Hohenberg to Albersweiler on the wine route or over the Cramerpfad to the Madenburg above Eschbach.

On site you will find:
- a table with benches

The picnic area is barrier-free.

Our tips for picnicking:
Remember to keep your distance from others, even outside. You are welcome to take a picnic blanket with you to get out of the way if your chosen picnic bench is still occupied. Please pack up your rubbish after the picnic, as we want to preserve the beautiful nature for everyone! Please note that barbecues and campfires are not allowed at the picnic areas. We hope you enjoy your picnic on the Southern Wine Route!

Information on accessibility
-There is a general car park 20 m away.
-The path to the picnic area is partly on uneven ground (gravel).
-There is a picnic table *The picnic table is on gravel
-One table is accessible from underneath. The maximum height of the table is 82 cm, and it is possible to drive under it at a height of 74 cm and a depth of 20 cm.
-The nearest accessible toilet is in Annweiler am Trifels (Professor-Nägle-Platz, 76855 Annweiler am Trifels).

Tip for wheelchair users
The picnic tables can be reached without steps or steep inclines. But please note that they are in the forest, so the ground can be a little uneven in places. Depending on the type of wheelchair you have, I recommend - safety first - that you do not go to the picnic area alone, just in case your wheelchair gets a bit stuck. Besides, a picnic in good company is much nicer anyway! :) (Vanessa Giloy)
