On the approximately 2.5 km long circular trail you will rediscover wine and the Bible. Immerse yourself in the bible's world of ideas about vines and wine. At 12 stations you will walk through pictures and texts for reflection and enjoyment. Integrated into the magnificent Palatinate region, the Biblical Wine Trail leads along easily accessible, level paths, which are also easy to master for people with a handicap.
Column 6 - Water of life - Vine blood
"What kind of life is this", says the wisdom teacher Jesus Sirach, "if you have no wine, which was created for joy from the beginning? Wine is like the water of life for the person who drinks it in moderation. Cheerfulness, bliss and pleasure brings wine drunk at the right time!" Psalm 104 agrees: "Wine gladdens the heart of man" - who's surprised by the fruit of the tree of life? On top of that, wine, also called the blood of the vine, is, according to the ancient view, the symbol of the blood in which life dwells. Both come together in Jesus: "This is my blood..." he says to the wine and also: "He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life".
