Even from a distance you can see the former quarry of Frankweiler with its yellow sandstone, which is rather atypical for the region. At the top of the Ringelsberg, popularly known as "Sackpfeif", stands the Ringelsberghütte, where many pleasure-hungry hikers stop off on Sundays for the Palatinate Vespers.
