So schmeckt die Südpfalz

A culinary competition

It's not only an event; it's a feeling! The Southwestern Palatinate is famous for its wide variety of regional fruits and vegetables. A strong spirit of gastronomy permeates the region and gives life to the many excellent, unique and hospitable eateries.

The aim

Once a year, the tour operators of the Südliche Weinstrasse e.V. and the Südpfalz-Tourismus Landkreis Germersheim e.V. as well as the tourism office in Landau in der Pfalz organize the culinary competition "So schmeckt die Südpfalz" (So tastes the South Palatinate). The aim of this competition is to motivate restaurants to create extraordinary dishes and to promote regional and seasonal products. The event celebrated its premiere with tomatoes in summer 2015. In the following year, apples were the main ingredient of various modern menus around the region. In 2018, everything went around the topic "back to the roots" where cabbage and beets were the protagonists.
