Tipp: "Sternenweg / Chemin des étoiles"

Klosterkirche Eußerthal

In the footsteps of the pilgrims of St James

A European model project

"Sternenweg/Chemin des étoiles" is a European model project that was launched in 2006 by the Saarbrücken Regional Association to carefully valorise the paths of the St. James pilgrims in parts of Saarland, the Palatinate, Lorraine and Alsace. The focus is on "waymarks", in particular stone scallops with which the medieval art and building culture along the regional paths of the St. James pilgrims in the neighbouring old cultural landscapes were decorated. A European vision of the future permeates the project: pilgrimage along the stars of Europe for tolerance, humanity, freedom, democracy, friendly encounter of cultures, peace and being on the way for a better world!

There is much to suggest that the medieval route axes of the pilgrims of St James from the direction of Worms also ran along the edge of the Haard via Bad Dürkheim, Neustadt an der Weinstraße in the direction of Wissembourg to Strasbourg and to Mont Sainte-Odile in Alsace.
