Description

Today's town hall was built in the 19th century as a school and town hall. After the Palatinate passed to the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1816 and compulsory schooling was introduced, a separate schoolhouse had to be built in 1830. For this purpose, the Reformed and Catholic school was closed and two classrooms for Catholic children and one for Protestant children as well as a mayor's office were set up in the new schoolhouse.

In 1969, the school was integrated into the central school "Kleine Kalmit", so that the Göcklingen children still go to school in Ilbesheim today.
