Description

Since 1983 Otfried Culman is visualizing his daydreams in this fantastical garden. He has always been interested in "outsider-architecture" in foreign countries and visited the fantasy worlds created by architectural poets such as Tomaso Buzzi, Fernand Cheval, Antoni Gaudi, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Danielle Jacqui, Jacques Lucas, Niki de Saint-Phalle, Robert Tatin, Bruno Weber etc. Those outsider artists mostly work spontaneously and without carefully planning their objects. The statues and buildings grow out of the artist’s inner drive and visions or follow his urge to play and build – the results are marvellous.

Inspired by his daydreams, Otfried Culman intensified his work in the last few years. He decorates his works with all kinds of stones and pieces of tiles, plates, cups and glass he finds, buys on jumble sales or he is given by supporters.

The garden is open 2024 in June, July and August every Sunday from 1 to 6 pm without prior reservation. Admission costs 6 euros per person. Children up to 10 years are free. Visitor groups of 4 or more are also possible on other dates by prior arrangement. The entrance fee for these exclusive visits is 12 euros per person. An exclusive personal guided tour by the artist is available for an additional 80 euros. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
