Jüdisches Leben in Speyer

Speyer

Jewish life in Speyer This city tour takes you through "The Jewish life in Speyer". A city tour in cooperation with the Stadtarchiv Speyer, which begins in 1084. It is not only on the famous medieval Jewish court of the Schum community with its unique ensemble consisting of synagogue, Frauenbetraum and Mikwe (ritual bath). The community from the 18th century to its destruction in the Shoah is also thematized on the basis of biographies of Jewish citizens. Likewise the way leads us to today's synagogue "Beith Shalom" with its living Jewish community. Because of the Jewish Sabbath, the synagogue Beith Shalom can only be visited from the outside on Fridays and Saturdays!
