The so-called Bergtor used to be located at the narrowest part of the Berggasse, which is still visible today. One of the four former city gates of Grünstadt. Directly in front of the bottleneck is the former shepherd's house on the left-hand side, easily recognizable by the Renaissance-style archway from 1583. The city's former moats can be found in many street names today. For example the Westliche Graben, which you can reach when you go through the narrow staircase next to the shepherd's house. The city wall, which is no longer visible at this point, still forms the back wall of several buildings in this area.
