For Maritta Müller-Kern, who grew up with viticulture was it from early on that she would one day devote herself to wine. After completing her training on her parents Vineyard and at the State Training and Research Institute for Viticulture in Neustadt an der Weinstraße did she sucessfully pass the exam to become a winemaker. In 1975/76 was she due to her expertise and entrepreneurial spirit, charm and quick wit crowned to the Palatinate Wine Queen and German Wine Princess. Equipped with the additional experience as the highest representative of Palatinate wine, Maritta Müller-Kern was one of the first females to pass the master of wine examination. Thereafter did she work as an expert in the expert commission for wine at the Chamber of Agricult in Rhineland-Palatinate - a post she still holds today. Her dedication to wine was rewarded with admission to the Confrèrie des Vignerons de SaintVincent in Macon. To the same time did her husband joined the Palatinate wine brotherhood (Die Weinbruderschaft der Pfalz). Their son Steffen has advanced to become a state-certified cultural and wine ambassador in the Palatinate (Kultur- und Weinbotschafter). He received among other places part of his training as a winemaker at the Johannitergut state domain. As a young graduate engineer for viticulture and oenology is heresponsible for the storage, development and bottling of our estate wines. Numerous awards confirm the professionalism of our cellar master. The majority of our bottled wines bear the award medal of the Chamber of Agriculture. In December 2010, our winery was awarded the title of "House of Award Wines". Our daughter Patricia continues the tradition of her mother and represented the wine village Hambach in 2004/2005. From September 2005 to October 2006 was she the bearer of the Wine Princess of the Palatinate crown.
