Good wines and delicious food are our passion. Strolling through the vineyards together, inspecting the leaves of the vines and tasting the grapes can only be described as a pure joy. Cooking together and enjoying authentic wines motivates us to constantly improve our own wines. The family is since many decades the hub of our wine estate. Many millions years ago, a massive rift valley led to the creation the Upper Rhine Valley. Rocks from many geological eras were jumbled together and thus lie side by side on the slopes of the Haardt. Differences in altitude, exposure and valley openings do the rest . Planted with vines, over many centuries a good knowledge of the diversity and bonity of the individual vineyards has developed. This is the basis for the classification of our vineyards within the framework of the classification of the VDP. Prädikatsweingüter. Today, we cultivate 20 hectares in Gimmeldingen, Königsbach, Ruppertsberg and Deidesheim. All with very different soils and microclimates, although the vineyards are only located along the edge of the Haard for a length of just under 5 km. Maintaining the Mittelhaardt tradition, Riesling is the dominant grape variety, accounting for slightly more than 2/3 of the area. Pinot Noir with 15%, Pinot Blanc with 10% and Pinot Gris and Muscat with 3% each complete our portfolio. With our new winery (built in 2010) to complement the existing compound since 2010 allows us to produce the finest, natural wines in the old-fashioned way with the most modern and gentle equipment.
