Trift dam on the Kleiner Legelbach stream
The Kleine Legelbach rises here in the side valley. A large Triftwoog has a dam made of a mighty sandstone wall. The wood stored laterally below was thrown into the drift channel, which was bricked up from the outlet. Then, after the woog was opened, it was washed away with the surge of water.
The woog ran empty in about an hour and took about three days to refill. Below, 420 fathoms = approx. 1300 ster of wood could be stored.
