Column 4 - The boar digs it
"Then he hoped that the vineyard would bring sweet grapes, but it only brought sour berries..." laments the prophet Isaiah, "he hoped for justice - but see: "He hoped for judgment, but behold, the wicked man cries out. No, with his vineyard, the people of Israel, God has no luck. Jesus also laments this in the parable of the wicked winegrowers, who mistreat and kill the servants and even the son of the landowner, because they want to get his share of the harvest. So the vineyard is laid waste - the boar rooting it up (Psalm 80) - and the winegrowers have to pay for it. But revenge and punishment are not the last word of the merciful God.
