Description

Sandstone in the form of a table. Sandstone is formed by the bonding of sand. This sand is the result of a process of decomposition of weathered rock over many years and consists mainly of robust quartz. The sand is carried on by the wind or by rivers. Where it is finally deposited, it can pile up and stick together due to the uplift pressure of the overlying layers. The pressure and natural chemicals cause the sand to solidify. There are different types of sandstone that are created by the different chemicals/materials of bonding. These chemicals/materials are clay - clay sandstone, lime - lime sandstone, iron - iron sandstone. Weather conditions give sandstone its present shape. There are two beautiful viewpoints near the table.
