Stone of Cooperation - Stone Project - Lambrecht (Palatinate)
Think - times!
How many people have worked together to lift the heavy stone from its original position, to bring it to the work site in the valley, to hew and shape it and to put it up again in a new place! How many people worked together to make the tools, the vehicles and the machines! How many people have made work possible by growing and preparing our food, by creating living space and clothing! How many people work together in education and teaching so that work is meaningful! Countless people are working together, one for the other, without knowing about each other: a worldwide brotherhood. Cooperation gets the ball rolling.
From Schiller's "Lied von der Glocke" (Song of the Bell)
A thousand industrious hands stir, / Help each other in lively alliance, / And in fiery movement / All forces are made known. / Master stirs himself and journeyman / In freedom's holy protection, / Each rejoices in his place, / Offers protection to the scornful. / Work is the citizen's adornment, / Blessing is the price of toil; / Honours the king his dignity, / Honours us the diligence of our hands.
(Friedrich Schiller *10.11.1759 in Marbach, died on 09.05.1805 in Weimar)
