It is certain that the church of St. Jakobs is older than the Höninger Monastery and one of the oldest Romanesque buildings in the Palatinate. It was built around the 12th or 13th century and has undergone many structural changes over the years. Gothic windows and remnants of medieval fresco paintings can be found in it. Another artistic treasure is the church in 'form of a predella, a late Gothic work. The church dedicated to St. Jakob has been in Evangelical possession since the Reformation.
