Rietburg Castle chairlift

From the valley station, near the former Bavarian royal palace Villa Ludwigshöhe, the cable car carries you up in comfortable double chairs to Rietburg Castle (550 m above sea level), built around 1200. It takes eight minutes.

The 220 meter difference in altitude is conquered in complete comfort.
Once you reach the top, allow your gaze to wander into the distance. Look down to the largest contiguous wine-growing region in Germany, into the Rhine Valley, to the cathedrals of Worms and Speyer and over to the slopes of the Forest of Odes and Black Forest.

From the spacious viewing terrace, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the entire Rhine Valley.
Rietburg Castle's restaurant opens its doors to patrons every day. From the Rietburg Castle ruins, numerous marked hiking trails lead to the huts and restaurants in the Palatinate Forest.
