Maria Salomea Schweppenhäuser, the daughter of the priest Heinrich Wilhelm Schweppenhäuser, who came from Oberotterbach, and his wife Charlotte was a chambermaid at the court of Bad Bergzabern and Darmstadt. As the wife of Friedich Hauke (1737-1810) she became the forerunner of the noble family of Battenberg, which was re-established in 1851. She was thus the ancestress of the English Prince Consort Philipp.
