In the very north, at 127 m at the highest point of the village, stands the water tower, the drinking water reservoir for 10,000 Herxheim citizens. Its shape is more like a small house than a tower. Directly next to it is a rest and picnic area with a table, benches and a sunbed. From up there, one has probably the most comprehensive panoramic view over the town and its surroundings. To the west and north you can see the silhouette of the Haardt with its castles, the great Kalmit and Hambach Castle. In the east the mountain peaks of the Odenwald peek out and in the south the view reaches far beyond Karlsruhe to the Black Forest. In good weather you can even see as far as the Feldberg in the southern Black Forest.
