Welcome to the lovely Hirtenbach valley. Here, miraculously protected from wind and weather, our small village nestles in the vineyards, fields and meadows. And so you will find the rural character of Niederhorbach not only in the village with its numerous historic half-timbered houses, but also on the countless field, hiking and biking trails around it. First and foremost, the hiking trail "Wine and Nature" is recommended, which not only leads to the most beautiful viewing spots on about 4.5 kilometers, past the original "Palatinate beach chairs" made of old half-barrels, but also has a lot of information on the display boards about viticulture. As the name suggests: Nature is protected and cultivated in Niederhorbach in a special way: The local group of the Southern Palatinate Nature Conservation Association has created numerous biotopes, scattered orchards and retreats for rare animal species and wild bees here, which you can explore on your discovery walk. Back in the village, it is worthwhile to walk to the village center with the Protestant church from 1484 and its historic Stumm organ in the stylish interior. Here in the village center right next door: the historic schoolhouse and the new "Gute Stube" of the 500-inhabitant village opened in 2016: our small but fine FestSpielHaus. For the little ones from Horbach and guests: The new, natural playground in the "Oberdorf" near the sports field attracts with a dirt bike track, boules court, barbecue area and many opportunities for play and adventure. Should you feel hungry or - even worse - thirsty during your tour, then the rustic wine tavern or the fine wine restaurant is not far away, as well as the farms of our winegrowers, who invite you to a tasty wine tasting. Thanks to the lively club life and committed citizens, Niederhorbach celebrates several times a year: Especially at our five-day Weinkerwe on the second weekend in August, the people of Niederhorbach meet here with their friends and guests.
