Naturdenkmal Rotenstein

Münchweiler an der Rodalb

The Rotenstein is a huge colossus of buntsandstein, which invites you to rest and linger with its rustic refuge and the magnificent view of the southern Palatinate Forest. Located directly on the Münchweiler Höhenwanderweg.

Attention: Within the eastern adjacent core zone "Source area of the Wieslauter" the protection provisions of section 7 of the national ordinance of the Biosphere Reserve Palatinate Forest must be observed. Entering this core zone is only permitted on marked paths and at your own risk. Incidentally, the paths must not be abandoned. Fallen trees and falling branches are basically left in core zones. Standing dead or dying trees are not felled. Therefore, falling branches or falling trees must be expected at any time and without prior notice. Paths are no longer cleared or maintained freely, even if they can still be included in hiking maps. In the event of an emergency, rescue operations are limited and possible under difficult conditions. See also links!
