The mountain is located entirely within the boundaries of the municipality of Busenberg and lies about two kilometers northeast of its settlement area. Two kilometers to the west is Schindhard, and Oberschlettenbach is just as far away to the east. In the north lies the Bärenbrunner valley with the historic Bärenbrunnerhof.
The Löffelsberg is covered by mixed forest. On its eastern flank the Erlenbach rises. A footpath leads in a west-east direction over its summit, which is part of the Busenberger Holzschuhpfad adventure trail. From here, there is a good view of Drachenfels Castle.
The eastern ridge of the Löffelsberg, like the southern slope, is characterized by red sandstone rocks up to 26 meters high, which are used as a climbing area. A total of 16 climbing routes up to difficulty level VI (UIAA) can be found here.
