The Catholic Church in Birkweiler is dedicated to Saint Bartholomew, one of the 12 Apostles.
Previously, there was a simultaneous church in Birkweiler, but it had to be demolished at the end of the 19th century due to damage. After the Protestant community was able to build its own church relatively quickly, the Catholics were able to build the current church in the neo-Gothic style in 1896. The interior design has been largely preserved to this day.
Due to the slightly elevated position of the church, it is already recognizable from afar. The church is one of the cultural monuments of the place.
