Hergersweiler

Hergersweiler is located between Kandel and Bad Bergzabern on the B427 and was first mentioned in a document in 1301. In the middle of the 20th century, the inhabitants of Hergersweiler lived almost exclusively from agriculture. In addition to livestock, grain and potato cultivation, tobacco and wine cultivation were of particular importance. Vineyards have grown steadily since then, but tobacco plantations have declined completely. As a result of the far-reaching structural change in the agricultural sector and the settlement of industry, especially in the Karlsruhe area, the earning situation in the village changed fundamentally. Today there are still 3 full-time farmers and some part-time farmers.

Recreation: Wine tasting, cycling and hiking trails amidst vineyards, children's playground, football field, beach volleyball court, barbecue hut.

Festivals: fire department festival on the 1st weekend in July, Kerwe on the 1st weekend in September.
