Description

The Hainbach rises on the eastern edge of the Palatinate Forest on the Roßberg. It leaves the Palatinate Forest between Frankweiler and Gleisweiler and feeds the unique forest shower here. On its way to the east, it flows through the municipalities of Böchingen, Walsheim and Knöringen.

In Böchingen, numerous bridges and footbridges were built in the course of a renaturation of the Hainbach in order to provide the children with a safe footpath to the kindergarten and the leisure facility in the village. Therefore, this part of the village is popularly called "Little Venice".
