The Five Wounds Cross between Maikammer and St. Martin was erected in 1733 by the St. Martin cooper Tobias Benedikt Schneider. It was based on the popular veneration of the five wounds of Christ. Praying and contemplating these wounds was supposed to keep away hunger, plague and disease.
