Friedenskapelle

The first considerations for the construction of a chapel on the Rustelberg were made by Father Joseph Süß in 1935. In 1946, the parish acquired the intended property. Due to the situation in the post-war period, however, Father Süß had to set other priorities. When he left for Schweighofen in 1961, he suggested to his successor in office, the pastor Wilhelm Geißler, that a chapel be built. But it took several decades before the construction of the chapel began in November 1994, financed by donations. After almost three years, the construction work was completed and the Chapel of Peace was inaugurated on September 14, 1997. It is dedicated to Brother Conrad and the Holy Mother of God.

From the chapel one has a magnificent view of Birkenhördt and the surrounding mountains up to the Stäffelsberg tower. It is open from Good Friday to October inclusive on weekends and holidays.
