The Fountain of Liberty

Within the framework of the village renewal in the centre of the village between 1990 and 1992 with the renovation of the town hall, the design of the village square, the Freiheitsbrunnen (Fountain of Liberty), the Freiheitsbaum (tree of liberty) and the Volksbank and doctor's building, a much-noticed ensemble was created. The private renovation of several estates in this area harmoniously completes the appearance of the new village square.

The Fountain of Liberty in the centre of the village symbolically represents the former prince-bishop moated castle of Kirrweiler, which was destroyed during the French Revolution.
