Knight's castle, Renaissance-castle, fortress
Built in the 13th century, the castle was the magnificent residence of the Counts of Leiningen and is one of the largest castle and fortress ruins in the country. With its many towers, staircases and corridors, today it invites young and old to discover, experience and conquer. Its prosperity made it possible for the original castle to become a stately palace, which was later expanded into a fortress with walls several metres thick.
