Largest Roman mansion in the Palatinate and "highlight of wine culture"
2,000 years ago, with one of the most beautiful views of our vineyards, a wealthy Roman and his entourage lived here in a gigantic villa with 150m of frontage and all the comforts such as underfloor heating and a steam bath. It was a winery, and these Romans were among the "pioneers" of viticulture, as it is said that the Romans brought wine to the Palatinate. The wine press house a bit away from the villa testifies to the wine production. How they lived here, what moved them, how the wine was "trodden", how special this villa is - all this you will learn during this guided tour. This also grants the only opportunity to enter the interior of the villa.
Duration: about 1,5 hours.
Meeting point: parking lot on the wine road (below the Roman villa/exit Ungstein in the direction of Kallstadt).
Bookable in the following languages: German, English, French, Dutch
