Largest Roman manor house in the Palatinate and "highlight of wine culture".
With a costumed tour guide.
2,000 years ago, with one of the most beautiful views of our vineyards, a wealthy Roman and his entourage lived here in a gigantic villa with 150m of frontage and all the comforts such as underfloor heating and a steam bath. It was a vineyard, and these Romans were among the "pioneers" of viticulture, for it is said that the Romans brought wine to the Palatinate. The wine press house a little away from the villa bears witness to the wine production. How they lived here, what moved them, how the wine was "trodden", how special this villa is - you will learn all this on this guided tour. This also grants the only opportunity to enter the interior of the villa.
