The Heidelsburg is one of the longest known Roman hilltop fortifications. Established between the 4th and 1st century before Christ by the Celtic tribe of the Mediomatrici, colonized by the Romans and destroyed 325 after Christ by venturing Alemanni. The remains include parts of the gates of mighty cuboids, the stairways, the walls, a cistern and a gravestone of the former Roman caretakers.
