Castle ruin Blumenstein/D
Located to the south of Schönau-Gebüg on a small freestanding cliff, Blumenstein castle is one of the highest castle ruins in the Palatinate. The Blumenstein is a small tripartite castle complex. Its upper and middle parts are accessible via rock hewn stairways. The castle was presumably built in the first half of the 13th century. Its shield wall consists of ashlars and constitutes the emblem of the castle. Visitors may enjoy the view over the Schönau valley.
