At the end of the 1960s, after the closure of the school in the old schoolhouse, there were considerations and plans to use the former area near the village school, which extended to the "Pfaffengässel", for the expansion of the mayor's office and the construction of a village community center. The former farm buildings such as pigsty, chicken coop, barn, wood and potato cellar, which served the respective village teacher to secure his livelihood, were demolished. In 2008/2009, the village hall was then extensively renovated and modernized and is the center of the village for festivals and events. In 2013, two new "meeting places" were inaugurated. These are a youth center and a fire station. In order to give the entire area a small spatial demarcation and to create a counter accent to the longitudinally stretched village community center, a concept for a small square with the current fountain in the middle was developed by Prof. Dr. Hans Habermann, which was structurally implemented by Heinz Stern from Großfischlingen. Here the possibility should be created to be able to meet away from the everyday life unconstrained. The result was a round fountain with several surfaces arranged one above the other, in which the water rising in the middle pipe is distributed to the respective discs below, to be collected again in individual drops in the basin.
