Description

Nestled in the Palatinate Forest lies the idyllic forest community of Böllenborn-Reisdorf. About three kilometers southwest of the main village of Böllenborn lies Reisdorf in the southeastern Wasgau, as the southern part of the Palatinate Forest is also called together with the northern part of the Vosges. The first documentary mention of Böllenborn dates back to June 14, 1345. The detailed chronicle of the local community describes the origins of the villages. Our historical churches, the pilgrimage church in Böllenborn (built in 1492) as well as the small Wendelinus chapel in Reisdorf are worth a visit. In the immediate vicinity is Bad Bergzabern, located on the German Wine Route. The French border and Alsace are also not far away. Hikers and mountain bikers can plan tours worth seeing from here. Our state-approved tourist community offers relaxation and recreation in one of the most beautiful villages of the southern wine route.

Twice elected "most beautiful village in the district SÜW".

Festivals: On the first Saturday in August the annual bread baking festival takes place in Böllenborn.

Recreation: hiking and biking trails, recreational and children's playground, rest and barbecue area with shelter, country inn in Reisdorf, forest nature trail and a boules court can be found in the immediate vicinity or in the village.

Traffic connection: B 427/L 492, nearest train station Bad Bergzabern (3 km), bus line Bad Bergzabern-Böllenborn.
