The oldest church in Neustadt, The Old Winzingen Church ,was built in the 13th century. The church is built in Gothic style during the thirteenth century and was dedicated to St. Francis. It was first documented in 1281. Archaelogical finds indicate a predecessor building from Carolingian times. After the Reformation the building became the property of the Reformed, which was finally sealed in 1705 when the Palatinate Church was divided.
