"Andreas Meyer is a really good example of "renewable raw materials" in the Palatinate - young winegrowers who are taking their parents' business to the next level. The collection presented leaves hardly anything to be desired and the young man has the right understanding to categorise his wines. The three Pinot Blancs, for example, are clear in their diversity, all good to very good and comprehensibly priced. The small wines are fun, the big ones make you rave - what more could we want?" The winery is located in Heuchelheim-Klingen, a small winegrowing village on the Southern Wine Route. The family business, founded in 1949 by grandpa Edmund Meyer, has developed over the years from a mixed agricultural business with 3.5 hectares of vineyards into an insider tip in the region. The Meyer family has always endeavoured to win and preserve the terroir provided by the vineyard. While great importance is attached to careful work outside, consistent yield reduction and selective harvesting, relatively little is done in the cellar. Only occasionally do we have to intervene carefully to preserve the quality achieved in the vineyard.
