Description

The imperial castle Neukastel was built in the 12th century for the protection of the castle Trifels. Even though Neukastel was completely destroyed in the Palatinate war of succession, visitors blessed with imaginative power can still tell how impressive the castle must once have been. But probably even more stunning than the ruin itself is the panoramic view one can enjoy from the top of the rock.

Neukastel can be reached by foot from the village Leinsweiler.
